On April 17, 2025 I did an oral argument for a case. Although most speech is protected under the First Amendment, those rights do not extend to protecting police officers and other public employees from discipline for speech activities in a manner not afforded. The Supreme Court has long held that public employees (such as police officers) have narrower free speech rights than the rest of us in certain circumstances.
